Who Can Apply

• Applicant must be based in New South Wales and be an Aboriginal community organisation, group or Aboriginal sole trader. • Eligible organisations include CATSI corporations, Australian companies, incorporated associations, incorporated cooperatives, incorporated trustees and Local Aboriginal Land Councils. • Aboriginal sole traders are eligible only where their primary business activity relates to cultural expression or revitalisation. • Projects must not be profit-making in nature. • Applicant must be Aboriginal community controlled where incorporated. • Unincorporated groups must have an auspicing body. • Ineligible applicants include for-profit organisations, state and federal government agencies, local councils, schools, universities, TAFE colleges, ACE colleges and government funded preschools. • Application must include public liability insurance and evidence of community support.
Eligible applicants are NSW Aboriginal not-for-profit community organisations and groups, including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander corporations registered under the CATSI Act 2006, companies incorporated in Australia under the Corporations Act 2001, incorporated associations, incorporated cooperatives, incorporated trustees on behalf of a trust, and Local Aboriginal Land Councils under the Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983 (NSW). NSW Aboriginal sole traders are also eligible where their primary business activity relates to cultural expression or revitalisation and the project is not profit-making in nature. Ineligible applicants include for-profit organisations including Aboriginal businesses, state and federal government agencies, local councils under the Local Government Act 1993 (NSW), schools, universities, TAFE colleges, ACE colleges, government funded preschools, incorporated organisations that are not Aboriginal community controlled, and unincorporated groups without an auspicing body. Applications require public liability insurance and evidence of community support.
