This grant provides financial support to small businesses in defined Western Queensland disaster areas affected by the Western Queensland Surface Trough and Associated Rainfall and Flooding event from 21 March to 19 May 2025. It is intended to assist businesses that were unable to trade or experienced at least a 60 per cent drop in revenue due to the disaster.

Who Can Apply
• Have fewer than 20 employees by headcount at both the time of the disaster and the time of application
• Have annual turnover of less than $10 million
• Hold an active Australian Business Number at both the time of disaster and the time of application
• Be registered for GST at both the time of the disaster and the time of application
• Be located in one of the eligible local government areas: Barcoo Shire Council, Boulia Shire Council, Bulloo Shire Council, Diamantina Shire Council, Longreach Shire Council, Murweh Shire Council, Paroo Shire Council, Quilpie Shire Council, or Winton Shire Council
• Have been actively trading immediately prior to being affected by the disaster event
• Demonstrate an intent to continue or continued in business after the disaster event
• Not be insolvent and not have owners/directors who are undischarged bankrupt
• For at least 14 consecutive days due to the disaster, either have been completely unable to conduct trading activities or have experienced a revenue decrease of at least 60% compared to the same 14-day period in 2024
• If trading for less than 12 months, provide BAS evidence for Q2 and Q3 of the 2024-25 financial year showing a 60% reduction in revenue; if no BAS for Q2 has been submitted, the business is not eligible
• If operating more than one small business, assistance may be sought for each eligible separate business up to the maximum amount available

Businesses trading for less than 12 months must provide BAS evidence for Q2 and Q3 of the 2024-25 financial year showing a 60% reduction in revenue, and if they have not submitted a BAS for Q2 they are not eligible.
