To be eligible, applicants must be a primary producer, derive at least 50% of their gross income from primary production in an average year, have an Australian Business Number (ABN) that was held at the time of the natural disaster, have a primary production enterprise located in an eligible location, intend to re-establish the enterprise in the same community, region or sector, and have been engaged in the primary production enterprise when affected by the eligible disaster.

Eligible activities include engaging tradespeople for safety inspections, hiring or leasing equipment, purchasing materials for clean-up, buying or leasing essential equipment such as pumps and generators to immediately resume operations, and removing and disposing of debris, damaged goods, and injured or dead livestock.

Expected Outcomes

The grant is intended to help primary producers clean up damaged properties and reinstate their primary production enterprises so they can re-establish operations in the same community, region or sector after the January 2026 bushfires.
