Who Can Apply

Must have an active Australian Business Number and be an eligible incorporated, not-for-profit, local government, Indigenous or similar entity. Project must address bushfire, flood and/or tropical cyclone resilience and have at least $20,000 in eligible expenditure. Project must fit an eligible activity category: planning, awareness and capacity, or infrastructure. Infrastructure projects with eligible expenditure of $100,000 or more require a 50% cash or in-kind co-contribution.
Applicants must have an Australian Business Number and be an eligible entity, including an entity incorporated in Australia, company limited by guarantee, incorporated association, incorporated not for profit organisation, non-distributive co-operative, incorporated trustee on behalf of a trust, Regional Development Australia Committee, Australian local governing agency or body including the Australian Capital Territory Government, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Corporation registered under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006, registered Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander land council, or specified alpine resort management boards. Ineligible applicants include most state or territory government agencies or bodies other than the Australian Capital Territory, individuals, partnerships, unincorporated associations, publicly funded research organisations, trusts without an incorporated trustee, Commonwealth government agencies or bodies other than Regional Development Australia Committees, organisations listed on the National Redress Scheme non-participation list, and organisations non-compliant with the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012. Projects must be completed by 31 March 2025, be aimed at reducing risk to and/or improving resilience of the community against bushfires, floods and/or tropical cyclones, have at least $20,000 in eligible expenditure, and increase the community's ability to mitigate, avoid, withstand and/or recover from climate change-related hazard impacts across the social, economic, natural or built environment. Projects must fall within one of three eligible activity categories: planning, awareness and capacity, or infrastructure. Infrastructure projects with eligible expenditure of $100,000 or more require a 50% cash or in-kind contribution. Joint applications are allowed if the lead organisation is eligible.
