• Applicant may be an individual or a business. • Vehicle must be an eligible full battery electric vehicle or hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle. • Vehicle purchase or deposit must have occurred prior to 2024-01-01. • Deposit receipt must be dated on or prior to 2023-12-31. • Applicants awaiting delivery after 2024-01-01 may still be eligible if purchase or deposit was made before that date. • Demonstrator vehicles are not eligible. • Vehicle must be brand-new and not previously registered. • Applicant must provide a New South Wales Certificate of Registration showing stamp duty paid. • Applicant or business representative must provide a current and valid New South Wales driver licence.
The rebate is for eligible full battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in New South Wales. The rebate ended for all eligible EV purchases on 1 January 2024. Individuals and businesses that purchased or placed a deposit on an eligible EV prior to 1 January 2024 and are awaiting delivery remain eligible, regardless of whether the vehicle has been delivered by that date. Demonstrator vehicles are not eligible; eligibility is restricted to brand-new, not previously registered electric vehicles. Application evidence includes a New South Wales Certificate of Registration showing stamp duty paid, a current and valid New South Wales driver licence for the applicant or business representative, the vehicle purchase contract including sale price and deposit payment where applicable, a deposit receipt dated on or prior to 31 December 2023, and a tax invoice for interstate purchases or purchases from Tesla, Polestar and Vyro.
