Who Can Apply

• Applicant must be an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation providing early childhood education and care services, or an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander organisation providing early childhood education and care services. • Applicant must be a recognised early childhood education and care service provider under the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 for children aged 0-5 years. • Applicant must be able and committed to deliver the program to an Aboriginal Child and Family Centre, Multifunctional Aboriginal Child Service, mobile or centre-based community preschool, or a not-for-profit long day care service. • Applicant must not already receive other funding to deliver Aboriginal language programs to the same early childhood education and care services. • Applicant must ensure the program is co-developed and delivered by a local language Aboriginal teacher together with a certificate III or diploma qualified educator or an early childhood teacher. • If the applicant is not an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation and is a language service provider, it must comply with obligations under the Aboriginal Languages Act 2017 (NSW), including notification to the Aboriginal Languages Trust. • Applicant must provide documented support from the local Aboriginal community where the program will be delivered. • Activities must commence in 2026 and continue through to 2029.

Organisations must be able and committed to deliver the Ninganah No More language program to an Aboriginal Child and Family Centre, a Multifunctional Aboriginal Child Service, a mobile or centre-based community preschool, or a not-for-profit long day care service. Applicants must not be funded from another source to deliver Aboriginal language programs to the same early childhood education and care services. They must ensure the language program is co-developed and delivered by a local language Aboriginal teacher together with either a certificate III or diploma qualified educator or an early childhood teacher. If the applicant is not an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation and is a provider of language services, it must have complied with obligations under the Aboriginal Languages Act 2017 (NSW), including notifying the Aboriginal Languages Trust of the establishment and operation of the service. Applicants must provide documented support from the community where the program will be delivered, such as letters of community support recognising the organisation as an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation or Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander organisation, or if not an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation, a support letter for the individual language teacher from a recognised Aboriginal organisation.
