Who Can Apply

• Operate a commercial scale farming, pastoral, horticultural or fishing business affected by a declared natural disaster • Have been operating for at least 1 year • Be registered with the Australian Taxation Office as a primary producer • Have an Australian Business Number • Own the farmland or hold a current minimum 5 year written sharefarming or lease agreement for primary production, or own and operate under a fishing licence or have a 3 year lease of a fishing licence • Devote at least 75% of labour to the affected primary production enterprise • Usually generate at least 50% of total income from the affected enterprise • Demonstrate that own resources to recover from the disaster have been exhausted • Funding is not intended to compensate for losses where adequate insurance could have been obtained
