Who Can Apply

Must have an active ABN and be an incorporated eligible entity, registered secondary school, local government body, or state or territory government body. Joint applications are mandatory with an eligible lead organisation. Must include project partners from both required partner categories unless the lead applicant already satisfies one category. Individuals, unincorporated associations, non-compliant large employers, certain trusts, and some government entities are not eligible.
To be eligible, applicants must have an Australian Business Number (ABN) and be one of the following: an entity incorporated in Australia, an incorporated not for profit organisation, a secondary school registered with a state or territory authority, an Australian local government agency or body, or an Australian State or Territory Government agency or body. Joint applications are mandatory and must include a lead organisation that is eligible to apply. Applicants must identify one or more project partners and include partners from both specified categories unless the lead applicant already falls within one category. The categories are: (1) a school or group of schools, a tertiary education provider or group, a community organisation or group, or a career advisory organisation or body; and (2) an employer or employer group, industry body including business bodies, or training provider including group training organisations. Government schools without their own ABN may apply using their state or territory department's ABN. Ineligible applicants include organisations listed on the National Redress Scheme website as not joined or signified intent to join, employers of 100 or more employees that have not complied with the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012, individuals, unincorporated associations, organisations not included in section 4.1 of the guidelines, trusts unless applying through an incorporated trustee, and non-corporate Commonwealth entities.
