Who Can Apply

• Eligible applicants include incorporated not-for-profit organisations registered with NSW Fair Trading under the Associations Incorporation Act 2009 (NSW). • Eligible applicants include Aboriginal Corporations registered under the Corporations (Aboriginal Torres Strait Islanders) Act 2006 (Cth). • Eligible applicants include not-for-profit companies incorporated in Australia under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth). • Eligible applicants include Local Aboriginal Land Councils established under the Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983 (NSW). • Eligible applicants include New South Wales local councils operating under the Local Government Act 1993 (NSW). • Eligible applicants include incorporated cooperatives. • Eligible applicants include incorporated trustees on behalf of a trust, including Catholic School trusts. • Unincorporated Aboriginal groups may apply only where they have entered into an agreement with an eligible organisation to auspice the funding. • Projects must be activities or events held in New South Wales and meet the objectives of the 2024 NAIDOC Grants Program. • Projects should start by 7 July 2024 and must be completed by 30 November 2024. • Individuals cannot apply. • Federal and state government agencies and bodies, including public schools and hospitals, cannot apply. • New South Wales Public Schools are not eligible applicants. • For-profit organisations, including Aboriginal businesses, cannot apply. • Unincorporated Aboriginal organisations or groups without an eligible auspicing organisation cannot apply. • Applicants or auspices banned due to non-compliance in previous Aboriginal Affairs NSW grants cannot apply. • Organisations with redress sanction under the National Redress Scheme cannot apply. • One application per applicant or organisation is eligible each calendar year. • Applicants must provide a current letter of support from the local Aboriginal community. • Applicants must provide a certificate of currency for public liability insurance of at least $10 million.
Applicants must be eligible organisations able to deliver NAIDOC Week activities or events in New South Wales that meet the program objectives. Eligible applicants include incorporated not-for-profit organisations registered with NSW Fair Trading, Aboriginal Corporations registered under the CATSI Act, not-for-profit companies incorporated in Australia, Local Aboriginal Land Councils, New South Wales local councils, incorporated cooperatives, incorporated trustees on behalf of a trust, and unincorporated Aboriginal groups with an eligible auspicing organisation. Individuals, government agencies and bodies, New South Wales public schools, for-profit organisations, unincorporated Aboriginal groups without an eligible auspice, applicants or auspices banned due to previous non-compliance, and organisations with a redress sanction are not eligible. Projects must be held in New South Wales, start by 7 July 2024 and be completed by 30 November 2024.
