Who Can Apply

• Incorporated not-for-profit organisations registered with NSW Fair Trading under the Associations Incorporation Act 2009 (NSW) can apply. • Aboriginal corporations registered under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006 (Cth) can apply. • Not-for-profit companies incorporated in Australia under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) can apply. • Local Aboriginal Land Councils established under the Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983 (NSW) can apply. • New South Wales local councils operating under the Local Government Act 1993 (NSW) can apply. • Incorporated cooperatives can apply. • Incorporated trustees on behalf of a trust, including Catholic School trusts, can apply. • Unincorporated groups can apply only if they have entered into an agreement with an eligible organisation to receive and manage the funding. • Individuals cannot apply. • Federal and State Government agencies and bodies, including public schools and hospitals, cannot apply. • New South Wales Public Schools cannot apply directly, but can partner with an eligible organisation. • For-profit organisations, including Aboriginal businesses, cannot apply. • Unincorporated organisations or groups without an eligible auspicing organisation cannot apply. • Organisations that have not met project requirements, including acquittal and reporting for NAIDOC Grant funding received from Aboriginal Affairs NSW in the previous 2 years, cannot apply. • Activities and events must be held in New South Wales. • Activities and events that have already been held are not eligible. • Applicants must hold public liability insurance of at least $10 million per claim.
Applicants can include incorporated not-for-profit organisations registered with NSW Fair Trading under the Associations Incorporation Act 2009 (NSW), Aboriginal corporations registered under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006 (Cth), not-for-profit companies incorporated in Australia under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), Local Aboriginal Land Councils established under the Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983 (NSW), NSW local councils operating under the Local Government Act 1993 (NSW), incorporated cooperatives, incorporated trustees on behalf of a trust, and unincorporated groups with an agreement with an eligible auspicing organisation. Individuals, federal and state government agencies and bodies including public schools and hospitals, NSW Public Schools (except as partners), for-profit organisations including Aboriginal businesses, unincorporated organisations or groups without an eligible auspicing organisation, and organisations that have not met project requirements including acquittal and reporting for NAIDOC Grant funding received from Aboriginal Affairs NSW in the previous 2 years cannot apply. Activities must be held in New South Wales between 2 July 2023 and 30 November 2023. Applicants must have public liability insurance of at least $10 million per claim.
