Who Can Apply

• Applicant must meet organisation eligibility criteria • Applicant must have no outstanding reports to the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing • Applicant must meet matched funding requirements • Application must include only eligible grant activities • Application must submit all mandatory documents • Eligible applicants are generally not-for-profit multicultural community organisations • Eligible organisations may demonstrate status through ACNC registration, Consumer Affairs Victoria incorporated association registration, Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) registration, Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012 (Vic) registration, or constitution/rules/governance documents • Social enterprises with a clearly stated purpose related to supporting multiculturalism are eligible • Individuals and sole traders cannot apply • Local councils cannot apply directly • Auspice arrangements are only allowed for specified priority groups • Organisations primarily commercial or established to make a profit are ineligible, except eligible social enterprises • Organisations that failed to comply with previous grant terms are ineligible • Organisations must demonstrate ability to meet ongoing maintenance and operational costs • Projects that are the responsibility of another Victorian State Government portfolio are ineligible • Only one application per organisation is permitted
To be eligible, the organisation and application must meet organisation eligibility criteria, have no outstanding reports to the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, meet matched funding requirements, include only eligible grant activities, and submit all mandatory documents. Eligible applicants are generally not-for-profit multicultural community organisations that can demonstrate their status through registration with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission, Consumer Affairs Victoria as an incorporated association, registration under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) or the Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012 (Vic), or through constitution, rules or governance documents. Social enterprises with a clearly stated purpose or mission specifically related to supporting multiculturalism are also eligible. Individuals, sole traders, local councils, most auspice arrangements, primarily commercial or for-profit organisations except social enterprises, organisations that have failed to comply with previous grant terms, organisations unable to demonstrate capacity to meet ongoing maintenance and operational costs, and groups whose projects are the responsibility of another Victorian State Government portfolio are not eligible. Auspice arrangements are only permitted for new and emerging multicultural community organisations and projects, regional and rural located projects, and projects focused on positive outcomes for women and gender diverse people.
