The Manufacturing Collaboration Stream provides funding for a small number of large, transformational manufacturing projects in Australia. It supports projects with business-to-business and/or business-to-research collaboration at their core to help manufacturers scale up, become more competitive and move into higher value-added activities.

Who Can Apply

• Must have an active Australian Business Number and be an Australian large-scale manufacturer. • Project must align with at least one National Manufacturing Priority and include partner support letters. • Minimum eligible project expenditure is $60.6 million, with Commonwealth funding capped at 50% and all government funding capped at 65%. • Government bodies are generally ineligible, and excluded organisations under the National Redress Scheme or Workplace Gender Equality requirements cannot apply.
To be eligible you must have an Australian Business Number (ABN). Applications are only accepted where the project aligns with one or more of the six National Manufacturing Priorities, has a minimum of $60.6 million in eligible project expenditure, has no more than 50% of project funding from Commonwealth sources, has no more than 65% of project funding from all government sources, shows potential to expand or promote interstate or international trade, and includes letters of support from project partners. Applicants must also provide evidence from their board, chief executive officer or equivalent that the project is supported and that the applicant can complete the project and meet costs not covered by grant funding, and be able to provide a detailed governance plan for managing the project and partner relationships. Applicants are not eligible if they or a project partner are on the National Redress Scheme list of institutions that have not joined or signified intent to join, or are named by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency as non-compliant with the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012. Commonwealth, state, territory and local government bodies are not eligible, although a government business enterprise that meets the criteria may apply, and non-corporate Commonwealth entities are also not eligible.
