Who Can Apply

Must have an active Australian Business Number and be incorporated in Australia. Must be an eligible entity such as a university, medical research institute, corporation or corporate Commonwealth entity. Joint applications are allowed with an eligible lead organisation. Individuals, partnerships, unincorporated associations, trusts and non-corporate Commonwealth entities are not eligible.
To be eligible, applicants must have an Australian Business Number (ABN), be incorporated in Australia, and under sections 20 and 24 of the MRFF Act 2015 be one of the following: a medical research institute, a university, a corporate Commonwealth entity, or a corporation including businesses and not for profits. Joint applications are encouraged if there is an eligible lead organisation. Applicants must provide evidence from their board or chief executive officer (or equivalent) that the project is supported and that they can complete the project and meet project costs not covered by grant funding, plus letters of support from each project partner where applicable. Individuals, partnerships, unincorporated associations, trusts (unless through an incorporated trustee), non-corporate Commonwealth entities, and organisations not included in section 3.1 of the guidelines are not eligible.
