Who Can Apply

• Must have an active Australian Business Number and be incorporated in Australia • Must be a medical research institute, university, corporate Commonwealth entity, or corporation including businesses and not-for-profits • Individuals, partnerships, unincorporated associations, trusts without an incorporated trustee, and non-corporate Commonwealth entities cannot apply • Applications require detailed project documentation including board or CEO support, budget, project plan and risk management plan
Applicants must be an eligible entity, have an eligible project and have eligible expenditure. Eligible entities must have an Australian Business Number, be incorporated in Australia, and under section 24 of the MRFF Act 2015 be one of the following: a medical research institute, a university, a corporate Commonwealth entity, or a corporation including businesses and not for profits. Ineligible applicants include organisations, or project partners, on the National Redress Scheme list of institutions that have not joined or signified intent to join; employers of 100 or more employees that have not complied with the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012; individuals; partnerships; unincorporated associations; trusts, except where an incorporated trustee applies on behalf of a trust; and non-corporate Commonwealth entities. Applications must include board or CEO support evidence, a list of up to 15 Chief Investigators, a detailed project plan, a detailed itemised budget, a one-page statement on contribution to MRFF Measures of Success, a detailed risk management plan, intellectual property arrangements if applicable, letters of support from project partners if applicable, and a trust deed if applicable.
