Who Can Apply

Must have an active ABN and be incorporated in Australia. Eligible lead applicants include medical research institutes, universities, corporate Commonwealth entities, and corporations including businesses and not-for-profits. Individuals, partnerships, unincorporated associations, trusts (unless via an incorporated trustee), and non-corporate Commonwealth entities are ineligible. Applicants and project partners must not be on the National Redress Scheme non-joined list, and employers with 100 or more employees must comply with the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012.
You can apply if you have an Australian business number (ABN), are incorporated in Australia, and in accordance with section 24 of the MRFF Act 2015 are one of the following entities: a medical research institute, a university, a corporate Commonwealth entity, or a corporation (including businesses and not for profits). You cannot apply if you are an organisation, or your project partner is an organisation, included on the National Redress Scheme’s list of institutions that have not joined or signified their intent to join the Scheme; an employer of 100 or more employees that has not complied with the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012; an individual; a partnership; an unincorporated association; a trust (however, an incorporated trustee may apply on behalf of a trust); or a non-corporate Commonwealth entity. You can partner with one or more other organisations that also meet the eligibility criteria, but the lead organisation must complete the application, sign the grant agreement, receive grant payments and be responsible for compliance and reporting.
