Who Can Apply
• Must have an active Australian Business Number (ABN)
• Must be incorporated in Australia
• Must be one of the following entity types under section 24 of the MRFF Act 2015: medical research institute, university, corporate Commonwealth entity, or corporation including businesses and not-for-profits
• Must provide evidence from the board or chief executive officer (or equivalent) that the project is supported and that the organisation can complete the project and meet costs not covered by grant funding
• Must provide letters of support from each project partner, where applicable
• Must provide audited financial statements or annual reports
• Must not duplicate research that has been or is currently being undertaken
• Must list all Chief Investigators, up to a maximum of 15
• A Chief Investigator cannot be named on more than one active expression of interest or full application
• Individuals are not eligible
• Partnerships are not eligible
• Unincorporated associations are not eligible
• Trusts are not eligible, except where an incorporated trustee applies on behalf of a trust
• Organisations or project partners on the National Redress Scheme list of institutions that have not joined or signified intent to join are not eligible
• Employers with 100 or more employees must comply with the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012
• Joint applications are encouraged, but the lead organisation must be eligible and must submit the application
Applicants must have an Australian Business Number, be incorporated in Australia, and be one of the following under section 24 of the MRFF Act 2015: a medical research institute, a university, a corporate Commonwealth entity, or a corporation including businesses and not-for-profits. Applicants must provide board or CEO support evidence, letters of support from project partners where applicable, and audited financial statements or annual reports. Applicants must not duplicate research already undertaken or currently being undertaken, must list all Chief Investigators up to a maximum of 15, and a Chief Investigator cannot be named on more than one active expression of interest or full application. Individuals, partnerships, unincorporated associations, and trusts are ineligible, except an incorporated trustee may apply on behalf of a trust. Organisations or project partners on the National Redress Scheme non-joined list are ineligible, and employers with 100 or more employees that have not complied with the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012 are also ineligible. Joint applications are encouraged with an eligible lead organisation.
