Grant activity must create and operate a free national legal advice service supporting engagement with the Royal Commission. Service must be trauma-informed, culturally appropriate, accessible and staffed by qualified legal and support personnel. Applicants must establish referral pathways with the Royal Commission, relevant support services and the department.
To be eligible to receive this grant, applicants must be the Jewish Centre for Law and Justice Limited (ABN 43 679 820 485). No further organisations are eligible to receive a grant. The eligible grant activity must create and operate a trauma-informed, culturally appropriate and accessible free national legal advice service to support individuals to engage with the Royal Commission. The service must provide free legal advice, information and referrals by phone, online and face to face in key locations, consist of appropriately qualified legal and support staff including trauma informed specialist staff trained and experienced in dealing with cultural sensitivities, and develop close working relationships and referral pathways with the Royal Commission, relevant support services and the department. Grant funding can only be spent on eligible expenditure incurred on eligible grant activities.
