Who Can Apply

Must have an active Australian Business Number and be incorporated or otherwise an eligible organisation. Eligible lead applicants include incorporated entities, eligible publicly funded research organisations, incorporated not for profits, and local government bodies. Must provide board or CEO support evidence and evidence of capacity to fund at least 15% of eligible project costs plus ineligible costs. Individuals, most government agencies without publicly funded research functions, non-corporate Commonwealth entities, and trusts are not eligible as lead applicants.
To be eligible, applicants must have an Australian Business Number (ABN) and be one of the following: an entity incorporated in Australia, an eligible publicly funded research organisation as defined in section 14 of the grant opportunity guidelines, an incorporated not for profit organisation, or a local government agency or body including government business enterprises. Joint applications are acceptable if there is an eligible lead organisation. Applicants must provide evidence from their board, chief executive officer or equivalent that the project is supported, and evidence of how they will fund their share of project costs, including 15% of eligible expenditure and any ineligible expenditure. Lead applicants are not eligible if they are an individual, a Commonwealth or state or territory agency or body that does not undertake publicly funded research, a non-corporate Commonwealth entity, or a trust, although an incorporated trustee may apply on behalf of a trust.
