Who Can Apply

• Nominee must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident. • Self-nominations are not allowed. • A nominee can only be nominated in one prize category. • Nomination requires a nominator, two supporters and two independent referees.
To be eligible for a Science Prize, a nominee must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia, although nominees currently living or studying overseas are not precluded from being nominated. Nominees must not self-nominate, must not be nominated in more than one prize category, and must meet the specific eligibility criteria for the nominated prize. Nominees do not need to be a member of a professional association or have received any prior award. A nomination must be proposed by a nominator with knowledge of the nominee’s achievements and endorsed by two supporters. Nominators for the Science Prizes must also provide two independent referees. Nominators and supporters must not be close family members, and a nominator cannot also be a supporter or independent referee for the same nomination.
