• Must be a not-for-profit organisation
• Must be incorporated in Australia
• For-profit organisations are not eligible
• Publicly Funded Research Organisations (PFROs), including many universities, are not eligible to apply directly
• Joint applications are allowed if the lead applicant is an eligible not-for-profit organisation
• For reopened Stage 2, only invited organisations could apply
• Invitation codes for reopened Stage 2 were not transferable
• Applicants and project partners must not charge fees to participating SMEs or seek commercial advantage from them
To be eligible, applicants had to have an Australian Business Number, be registered for GST, be a not-for-profit organisation, and be incorporated in Australia. For-profit organisations and publicly funded research organisations were not eligible to apply directly. Joint applications were permitted if the lead applicant was an eligible not-for-profit organisation. For the reopened Stage 2, only organisations that had been invited to apply could submit an application, and invitation codes were not transferable. Applicants and project partners could not profit from or invest in participating SMEs, including charging fees for service.
