Who Can Apply

• Must have an Australian Business Number (ABN) • Must be registered for the Goods and Services Tax (GST) • Must be a not-for-profit organisation • Must be incorporated in Australia • For-profit organisations are not eligible • Publicly Funded Research Organisations (PFROs), including eligible universities under the PFRO definition, are not eligible to apply directly • Joint applications are allowed if the lead applicant is an eligible not-for-profit organisation • Applicants must meet eligibility requirements at the time of submission • For the reopened Stage 2, only invited organisations could apply and invitation codes were not transferable
Applicants had to have an Australian Business Number (ABN), be registered for GST, be a not-for-profit organisation, and be incorporated in Australia. For-profit organisations were not eligible. Publicly Funded Research Organisations, including universities captured by the Higher Education Support Act definition, were not eligible to apply directly, although they could participate in joint applications where the lead applicant was an eligible not-for-profit organisation. Joint applications were permitted if the lead organisation was an eligible not-for-profit and the main driver of the project. Applicants had to be eligible at the time of submission. For the reopened Stage 2, only organisations invited to apply could submit an application, and invitation codes were not transferable.
