Who Can Apply

- Must be an incorporated not-for-profit organisation with an ABN and registered for GST. - For-profit entities and Publicly Funded Research Organisations cannot be lead applicants. - Joint applications are allowed but must have an eligible not-for-profit lead that does not profit from or invest in participating SMEs. - Only organisations invited to apply for the reopened Stage 2 can submit an application, and eligibility must be met at the time of application.
To be eligible you must: - have an Australian Business Number (ABN) - be registered for Goods and Services Tax (GST) - be a not-for-profit organisation - be an entity incorporated in Australia. Only entities that do not profit from or intend to invest in SMEs participating in the Industry Growth Program are eligible, including not charging any fees for service to participating startups and SMEs. Publicly Funded Research Organisations (PFROs), including universities listed in Table A or Table B of the Higher Education Support Act 2003 and certain government research entities, are not eligible to apply as lead applicants. For-profit organisations are not eligible as lead applicants. Government Business Enterprises are not eligible, but Regional Development Australia and Cooperative Research Centres that are not Government Business Enterprises are eligible. Joint (consortia) applications are allowed, provided there is a lead not-for-profit organisation that is an eligible entity, is the main driver of the project, and submits the application. All project partners must provide letters of support and must also not profit from or invest in participating SMEs. Only organisations invited to submit an application for the reopened Stage 2 may apply, and invitation codes are not transferable to affiliates or other entities. Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements at the time they submit their application and must provide evidence they are a not-for-profit organisation.
