• Must have received an invitation from the Department to apply • Must currently be funded under the Indigenous Australians Health Programme (IAHP) • Must be experiencing an urgent, unforeseen or emergency circumstance beyond the organisation's capacity to address through existing funding, or have identified a significant service delivery risk requiring urgent mitigation • Must have the capability to deliver the project activities in the project location • Must have existing infrastructure, administration and/or relationships to support the project activities • Must have the knowledge of and capability to deliver to the project objectives and outcomes
To be eligible, applicants must have received an invitation from the Department to apply and must currently be funded under the Indigenous Australians Health Programme. Invited organisations will have been assessed as experiencing an urgent, unforeseen or emergency circumstance beyond their capacity to address through existing funding, or having identified a significant service delivery risk requiring urgent mitigation. They must also have the capability, infrastructure, administration, relationships, knowledge and project delivery capacity to undertake the activities in the project location.

Eligible activities may include purchasing necessary equipment to maintain service delivery in emergencies, targeted responses to emergency physical, social and emotional health needs, and the purchase, repair or installation of equipment or infrastructure, including temporary building structures such as a demountable, following a natural disaster or incident.

Expected Outcomes

Funded organisations are expected to maintain continuity of culturally appropriate primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, implement urgent risk mitigation or safety responses, and restore or support service delivery capacity during emergency situations.
