Who Can Apply

• Applicant must be a community preschool receiving funding under NSW Start Strong for Community Preschools or the Mobile Preschool Funding Program. • Child must be at least 3 years old on or before 31 July in the preschool year, or turn 3 after 31 July and demonstrate exceptional circumstances. • Child must either have constant and ongoing support needs requiring significant adjustments, or a temporary illness or injury requiring short-term adjustment. • Applications can be for one child or multiple children where the requested adjustment/equipment/furniture relates to more than one child. • Citizenship and residency status of the child are not considered for eligibility. • Application must include descriptions of needs, required works/equipment, supporting evidence where applicable, links to Individual Learning Plan outcomes, itemised quotes, and a safety/space declaration. • If project costs exceed the grant amount, the preschool must confirm it can fund the difference.

Applications may cover one or multiple children where the requested environmental adjustment, equipment or furniture relates to more than one child. Citizenship and residency status are not considered for eligibility. Applications must include descriptions of the child's needs, the required minor construction and/or specialised equipment or furniture, supporting professional evidence for equipment or furniture, links to outcomes in an Individual Learning Plan, itemised quotes excluding GST, and a declaration that sufficient space exists for safe installation and use. If the application exceeds the available grant amount, the applicant must confirm it can fund the difference.
