Who Can Apply

• Applicant must be a community preschool or mobile preschool • Service must currently receive NSW Start Strong for Community Preschools funding or the Mobile Preschools Funding Program • Child must be at least 3 years old on or before 31 July in the preschool year and not in compulsory schooling, or turn 3 after 31 July with exceptional circumstances • Child must have high learning support needs as defined in the program guidelines • Child must require an Individual Learning Plan and consistent support and guidance to participate on the same basis as peers • Priority payment requires urgent support and supervision needs due to significant safety concerns • Significant safety concerns must be identified in the ECCMS application • Priority payment application must be submitted within the first four weeks of the Quarter 2, 3 or 4 application periods • Priority payment is not available for children funded in previous years at the service
This funding is available only for community preschools, including mobile preschools, that are currently in receipt of NSW Start Strong for Community Preschools funding or the Mobile Preschools Funding Program. Child eligibility criteria also apply: the child must be at least 3 years old on or before 31 July in that preschool year and not in compulsory schooling, or turn at least 3 years old after 31 July and demonstrate exceptional circumstances. The child must have high learning support needs as defined in the program guidelines, including constant and ongoing support needs or a temporary illness or injury requiring short-term adjustment, require an Individual Learning Plan, and require consistent support and guidance to engage at the same level as peers. For priority payments, there must be an urgent need to support and supervise the child due to significant safety concerns, the significant safety concerns box must be selected in ECCMS, and the application must be submitted within the first four weeks of the Quarter 2, 3 or 4 application periods. Priority payment is not available for children funded in previous years at the service.
