Funded activities include smaller-scale changes to existing service delivery such as extending operating hours, flexible pick-up and drop-off, irregular care arrangements, increasing available or licensed places, establishing new family day care services in outer regional, remote and very remote areas, and partnerships between different service types to provide blended or wraparound care. Eligible costs may include staffing and recruitment, operating expenses, regulatory or council fees, transportation, and minor capital works.Before you apply

Who is eligible for the Early Childhood Education and Care Flexible Initiatives Trial Round 2?
- Must be an approved early childhood education and care service provider under the relevant New South Wales legislation.
- Must operate in New South Wales, excluding NSW Department of Education public preschools.
- Eligible service types include community preschool, mobile preschool, long day care, family day care, occasional care, and before and after school care.
- Proposed initiative must provide education and care to children aged 0 to 6 years.
- Must be registered, or willing to register, with the Early Childhood Contract Management System (ECCMS) and any other required department systems.
- Must agree to comply with the funding agreement terms and conditions.
- Proposed initiative must be beyond the service's normal, core, existing or ongoing activities.
- Must hold a quality rating and compliance history of at least Meeting the National Standard for the relevant service.
- In limited circumstances, services rated Working Towards or awaiting assessment and rating may be considered.
- Approved providers establishing a new family day care service must hold a quality rating and compliance history of at least Meeting the National Standard for a service in New South Wales.
