Who Can Apply

Only the 12 Registered Aboriginal Parties in Victoria are eligible. Applicants must hold an active ABN registered in Victoria. The ABN must have been held from 1 July 2022, with possible exemptions for recently registered RAPs. Applicants must provide financial documentation, including audited financial reports for the last three financial years where available.
Funding is only available to the 12 Registered Aboriginal Parties (RAPs) currently in Victoria. Applicants must hold an active Australian Business Number registered in Victoria and have held that ABN on and from 1 July 2022, although exemptions may apply for recently Registered Aboriginal Parties. Applications must be submitted using the designated template by the closing date, and applicants will be required to provide financial documentation for a Financial Risk Assessment, including audited financial reports for the last three financial years and other relevant documents where available.

Eligible projects include scoping and planning activities such as master planning, mapping cultural and geographical landscapes, identifying tourism opportunities, auditing tourism products and experiences, ICIP and Aboriginal Knowledge protection strategies, and community and stakeholder engagement. Implementation activities may include product development, business case and funding strategy development, feasibility studies, asset and equipment requirement assessments, technical investigations, strategic asset management planning, storytelling, placemaking and signage, tourism skills training and certification, and tourism marketing plans and website development.

Projects are expected to strengthen the capability and capacity of Registered Aboriginal Parties to engage in tourism-related economic development, identify and progress priority tourism initiatives, and support a strategic First Peoples-led approach to tourism development.
