Who Can Apply

• Must be a First Nations organisation or group • Must have an Australian Business Number (ABN), or apply through an eligible auspicing organisation with an ABN • Must be an eligible entity • Eligible entities include entities incorporated in Australia • Eligible entities include corporations and Indigenous land management organisations registered with the Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations • Eligible entities include registered land councils representing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people • Eligible entities include entities that manage or hold land rights, native title, or other Traditional Owner related agreements and settlements • Eligible entities include Australian incorporated not for profit associations or cooperatives • Eligible entities include Australian incorporated trustees on behalf of a trust • Eligible entities include partnerships based in Australia • Additional eligibility requirements apply under section 4.2 of the grant opportunity guidelines
Applicants can apply if they are a First Nations organisation or group, have an Australian Business Number (ABN), and are an eligible entity. Eligible entities include an entity incorporated in Australia, including corporations and Indigenous land management organisations registered with the Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations; a registered land council representing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, or an entity that manages or holds land rights, native title or other Traditional Owner related agreements and settlements, including a land council established under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976; an Australian incorporated not for profit association or cooperative; an Australian incorporated trustee on behalf of a trust; or a partnership based in Australia. Applicants may also apply on behalf of another First Nations group without an ABN through an auspicing arrangement, provided the auspicing organisation or group holds an ABN and meets the eligibility criteria.
