Applicants must be Queensland primary producers affected by the North and Far North Tropical Low commencing 29 January 2025. To be eligible, they must hold an Australian Business Number and have held that ABN at the time of the disaster, be located in the defined disaster area for the eligible disaster and have suffered direct damage as a result of the disaster, be primarily responsible for meeting the costs claimed in the application, and intend to re-establish the undertaking in the same area.

Eligible activities include equipment and materials for clean-up, additional labour costs, disposal of damaged goods and stock, repairs to non-housing buildings, reconditioning or repair of essential plant and equipment, purchase or hire or lease of equipment needed for immediate business resumption, safety inspections by tradespeople, and essential repairs to premises and internal fittings not covered by insurance.

Expected Outcomes

Recovery of disaster-affected primary production businesses through clean-up, reinstatement of essential assets and premises, and immediate resumption of business operations in the affected area.
