Applicants must be Queensland primary producers affected by the North and Far North Tropical Low commencing 29 January 2025. To be eligible, applicants must hold an Australian Business Number (ABN) and have held that ABN at the time of the disaster, be located in the defined disaster area for the eligible disaster and have suffered direct damage as a result, be primarily responsible for meeting the costs claimed in the application, and intend to re-establish the undertaking in the same area.

Eligible activities include equipment and materials for clean-up, additional labour costs, disposal of damaged goods and stock, repairs to non-residential buildings, reconditioning or repair of essential plant and equipment, purchase or hire or lease of equipment needed for immediate resumption of the business, safety inspections by tradespeople, and essential repairs to premises and internal fittings not covered by insurance.

Expected Outcomes

Recovery and reinstatement of disaster-affected primary production businesses in the defined disaster area, including clean-up, repair of essential assets, and immediate resumption of business operations in the same area.
