Who Can Apply

- Fewer than 20 full-time equivalent employees and annual turnover under $10 million - Active ABN and GST registration, and trading immediately before the disaster - Located in Ingham or surrounding areas and affected by 5 or more consecutive days of power outage causing uninsured perishable stock loss - Must not have received related North and Far North Tropical Low recovery grant funding and must be solvent
To be eligible, the business must have fewer than 20 full-time equivalent employees at both the time of the disaster and the time of application; annual turnover of less than $10 million; an active Australian Business Number held at the time of the disaster; GST registration at both the time of the disaster and the time of application; be located in Ingham or surrounding areas at the time of the disaster and demonstrate a direct operational impact from the de-energising of the Ingham substation; have been trading immediately before being affected by the disaster; have experienced a power outage for 5 or more consecutive days resulting in the loss of uninsured perishable goods; hold a business electricity account with a National Meter Identification number in the Ergon Energy electricity distribution network; be reported by Ergon Energy as having experienced a power outage for more than 5 consecutive days due to the de-energising of the Ingham substation; provide details and copies of relevant insurance policies and claims and finalise any eligible insurance claim before applying; not have received approval for funding under the Exceptional Disaster Assistance Recovery Grants – North and Far North Tropical Low; provide satisfactory evidence of the stock loss claimed and proof of payment of replacement costs; be primarily responsible for meeting the costs claimed; demonstrate an intent to continue, or have continued, in business after the disaster event; not be insolvent or under external administration; and not have owners or directors who are undischarged bankrupt. Sole traders with no employees other than themselves must derive the majority of their income from the affected business.
