A small business may receive energy bill relief if it is on a separately metered commercial tariff with a licensed electricity retailer, has annual electricity consumption below 160 MWh, does not run using electricity from the business owner's home, and is not a government customer under the Electricity Pricing Order. If the business is a new small business customer after 1 July 2024, the usage limit does not apply. Relief is applied automatically to eligible accounts from 1 July 2025 to 31 December 2025. Bill relief is given quarterly for customers with an active account on the specified dates, including 31 July 2025 for quarter 1 and 1 October 2025 for quarter 2. New customers after 1 October 2025 are not eligible to receive bill relief.
