Who Can Apply

• The researcher must not currently live or work in New South Wales. • The researcher must be located outside Australia with the intention to move to New South Wales if funded. • The researcher must reside in New South Wales and be employed by an eligible host organisation for the full grant period. • The grant period is 3-5 years. • The nominee must be an Australian citizen, have permanent residency status, or hold an appropriate visa for the duration of the grant. • Nominations must be submitted by host organisations, not directly by researchers. • The host organisation must be in New South Wales. • The host organisation must conduct health and medical research. • Eligible host organisations include a university, an independent medical research institute, a not-for-profit organisation that conducts health and medical research, or a local health district or other public health organisation. • Host organisations must match funds to a minimum of 50% of the grant awarded, in addition to in-kind support. • Research focused on cardiovascular health is not eligible for funding. • Funds cannot be used to support research conducted outside New South Wales.

If funded, the researcher must move to New South Wales, reside there, and be employed by an eligible host organisation for the full grant period of 3 to 5 years. Nominations must be submitted by host organisations, not directly by researchers. The host organisation must be located in New South Wales, conduct health and medical research, and be a university, independent medical research institute, not-for-profit organisation conducting health and medical research, or a local health district or other public health organisation. Host organisations must match funds to at least 50% of the grant awarded in addition to in-kind support. Research focused on cardiovascular health is not eligible, and funds cannot be used for capital works, maintenance, infrastructure or overheads, communications systems, basic office equipment, rent, utilities, or research conducted outside New South Wales. The nominee must be located outside Australia with the intention to move to New South Wales and be employed by an eligible host organisation for the duration of the grant, and must be an Australian citizen, have permanent residency status, or hold an appropriate visa for the duration of the grant.
