What is the Elite Researcher Grants?
How much funding does the Elite Researcher Grants provide?
Who is eligible for the Elite Researcher Grants?
- The researcher must not currently live or work in New South Wales.
- The researcher must be located outside Australia with the intention to move to New South Wales if funded.
- The researcher must reside in New South Wales and be employed by an eligible host organisation for the full grant period.
- The grant period is 3-5 years.
- The nominee must be an Australian citizen, have permanent residency status, or hold an appropriate visa for the duration of the grant.
- Nominations must be submitted by host organisations, not directly by researchers.
- The host organisation must be in New South Wales.
- The host organisation must conduct health and medical research.
- Eligible host organisations include a university, an independent medical research institute, a not-for-profit organisation that conducts health and medical research, or a local health district or other public health organisation.
- Host organisations must match funds to a minimum of 50% of the grant awarded, in addition to in-kind support.
- Research focused on cardiovascular health is not eligible for funding.
- Funds cannot be used to support research conducted outside New South Wales.
