Who Can Apply

• Have an Australian Business Number (ABN) • Have an account with an Australian financial institution • Be an entity incorporated in Australia • Be one of the following: a licensed motor dealer/trader; a service centre associated with a licensed motor dealer/trader; or an automotive repair business compliant with Australian Standards 5732:2022 with at least one suitably qualified staff member for EV work • Must not be an organisation outside the listed eligible entity types • Must not operate out of residential premises • Must not be, and must not have a project partner that is, on the National Redress Scheme list of institutions that have not joined or signified intent to join • Employers with 100 or more employees must comply with the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012 • Must have purchased and installed at least one eligible smart EV charger at an eligible site on or after 2024-03-26, or purchased a portable DC EV charging unit with minimum expenditure of 2500 • Fixed EV charging units must meet smart requirements and be installed by a licensed electrician • Portable DC EV charging units must be powered via an electrical outlet assessed for safety and additional load by a licensed electrician
Applicants must have an Australian Business Number, have an account with an Australian financial institution, and be an entity incorporated in Australia. Eligible applicants must be a licensed motor dealer or trader, a service centre associated with a licensed motor dealer or trader, or an automotive repair business compliant with Australian Standards 5732:2022 for EV operations maintenance and repair, with at least one current staff member suitably qualified to undertake EV work. Ineligible applicants include organisations outside the listed eligible entity types, businesses operating from residential premises, organisations or project partners on the National Redress Scheme list of institutions that have not joined or signified intent to join, and employers with 100 or more employees that have not complied with the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012. To be eligible for a rebate, applicants must have purchased and installed at least one eligible smart EV charger at an eligible site on or after 26 March 2024, or purchased a portable DC EV charging unit with minimum expenditure of 2500. Fixed chargers must meet smart requirements and be installed by a licensed electrician, and portable DC units must be powered via an outlet assessed for safety and load by a licensed electrician.
