• Must have an account with an Australian financial institution
• Must be an entity incorporated in Australia
• Must be one of: a licenced motor dealer/trader; a service centre associated with a licenced motor dealer/trader; or an automotive repair business compliant with Australian Standards 5732:2022 with at least one suitably qualified EV staff member
• Must have an eligible project and eligible expenditure
• Eligible project must include purchase and installation of at least one eligible smart EV charger at an eligible site on or after 2024-03-26, or purchase of a portable DC EV charger with minimum expenditure of 2500
• Fixed EV charging units must meet smart charger requirements with online connection for monitoring and management
• Fixed smart EV charging units must be installed by a licenced electrician
• Portable DC EV chargers must use an outlet assessed by a licenced electrician for safety and additional load
• Ineligible if operating from residential premises
• Ineligible if the organisation or project partner is on the National Redress Scheme list of institutions that have not joined or signified intent to join
• Ineligible if an employer of 100 or more employees that has not complied with the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012
Applicants must have an Australian Business Number, an account with an Australian financial institution, and be an entity incorporated in Australia. Eligible applicants must be a licenced motor dealer/trader, a service centre associated with a licenced motor dealer/trader, or an automotive repair business compliant with Australian Standards 5732:2022 for EV operations maintenance and repair with at least one suitably qualified staff member to undertake EV work. Applicants cannot be organisations outside those categories, businesses operating from residential premises, organisations or project partners on the National Redress Scheme list of institutions that have not joined or signified intent to join, or employers of 100 or more employees that have not complied with the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012. Eligible projects must involve purchase and installation of at least one eligible smart EV charger at an eligible site on or after 26 March 2024, or purchase of a portable DC EV charging unit with minimum expenditure of 2500. Fixed chargers must be smart chargers with online connectivity and installed by a licenced electrician. Portable DC chargers must be powered via an outlet assessed for safety and load by a licenced electrician. Eligible expenditure must be direct costs of purchasing and/or installing eligible charging units.
