Who Can Apply

• Applicants must have an Australian Business Number (ABN), or be a First Nations organisation or not-for-profit organisation as defined in the guidelines. • Applicants must be an entity with the capacity to enter into a legally binding agreement. • Applicants must not be an entity listed in section 4.3 of the guidelines. • Businesses must provide a current ABN as evidence of entity type. • First Nations organisations must provide evidence of ACCO or other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisation status. • Not-for-profits must provide evidence of not-for-profit status such as ACNC registration or constitutional documents. • Individuals cannot apply. • Overseas residents or organisations cannot apply. • Australian Government bodies, including government business enterprises, and entities wholly funded by the Australian Government cannot apply. • Applicants must be an eligible entity type. • Projects must primarily increase understanding of disaster impacts, build resilience to future disasters and/or reduce disaster risk. • Projects must be risk informed, aligned with plans and priority targeted in accordance with the investment principles. • Projects must target one or more eligible natural hazard types. • Projects must involve one or more eligible activity types in the built, social, natural and/or economic domains. • Projects must deliver enduring benefits for a community or communities at risk in an eligible location. • Projects must meet eligible expenditure, minimum project value, co-contribution and maximum duration requirements where applicable. • Infrastructure projects must have a minimum total project value of $0.5 million. • Projects must not have commenced Commonwealth-funded activities, or be completed, before implementation plans are endorsed. • Projects must not have received Commonwealth funding from other sources for the same activities. • Projects must not be business as usual. • Applicants and delivery partners are required to contribute co-contributions. • Each applicant may submit a maximum of four applications under Round 3 in New South Wales.

Businesses must provide a current ABN; First Nations organisations must provide evidence of Indigenous organisational status; not-for-profits must provide evidence of not-for-profit status. Individuals, overseas residents or organisations, Australian Government bodies or wholly federally funded entities, and entities not included in the eligible applicant types cannot apply. Projects must primarily increase understanding of disaster impacts, build resilience to future disasters and/or reduce disaster risk, align with the program investment principles, target eligible natural hazards, involve eligible activity types and domains, deliver enduring benefits in an eligible location, and meet expenditure, project value, co-contribution and duration requirements. Infrastructure projects must have a minimum total project value of $0.5 million; other project types have no minimum. Projects must not have commenced Commonwealth-funded activities before implementation plans are endorsed, must not duplicate Commonwealth funding, and must not be business as usual. Applicants are required to provide co-contributions and may submit a maximum of four applications in New South Wales for Round 3.
