• Be a First Nations group or organisation recognised as a Murray–Darling Basin Traditional Owner, or able to demonstrate a traditional connection to the relevant Basin area
• Be part of Murray–Darling Basin First Nations
• Have an active Australian Business Number, or work with a group that has an ABN to hold funds
• Joint applications are allowed if there is a lead organisation
• Propose an eligible project aligned to cultural flows planning, governance or business planning
Applicants must be First Nations groups or organisations recognised as Murray–Darling Basin Traditional Owners, or able to demonstrate a traditional connection to the relevant Basin area. Applicants must have an Australian Business Number, although groups without an ABN may work with a group that has one to hold funds. Joint applications are permitted, but must nominate a lead organisation. The program is intended for Basin First Nations and projects must be eligible under the program guidelines.
