These grants supported Aboriginal Traditional Owner-led caring for Country through selective and targeted pilot projects in New South Wales. Applicants needed to illustrate how their project aligned with the Cultural Fire Management Unit objectives to explore the expansion of cultural fire management and the principles of Our Place On Country. Proposed projects also needed to align with the selection criteria from the primary funding source, such as threatened species recovery objectives for Commonwealth-funded projects. Applicants were required to have the capacity to administer and manage their project in accordance with the terms and conditions of a project funding agreement. Further applications are no longer accepted because current projects have already been approved and funded.
