Who Can Apply

• Must hold an Australian Business Number (ABN). • Must be registered for GST. • Must operate, be developing a mineral project, or conduct research within the critical minerals and high-tech metals industry or supply chain. • Eligible lead applicant types include an Australian incorporated company, company limited by guarantee, incorporated trustee for a corporate trust, incorporated association, co-operative, Publicly Funded Research Organisation, or Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Corporation. • Must demonstrate financial and technical capacity to deliver the proposed studies. • Must provide evidence of $20 million public liability insurance, or confirm it will be obtained before the funding deed is executed. • Consortium applications are encouraged, but the lead applicant must satisfy all eligibility requirements and provide letters of support from consortium members. • The project must relate to at least one identified critical mineral or high-tech metal. • The project must align with the fund objective and stream objectives. • The project must deliver, or have the potential to deliver, significant benefits to the sector in New South Wales. • If the study relates to a specific mineral resource, that resource must be located in New South Wales. • Studies must be completed within 18 months of execution of the funding deed. • Resource-project studies must have at least an Indicated Resource under the JORC Code and have plans to obtain, or already have obtained, necessary mining consents. • Applicants must provide a co-contribution of at least 50% of total study cost, generally in cash, unless otherwise approved. • Ineligible lead applicants include local councils, Joint Organisations of Councils, Australian or New South Wales Government agencies, sole traders, individuals, unincorporated associations, and insolvent businesses.
