Who Can Apply

• Must be 18 years of age or older • Must be a New South Wales resident and have lived in New South Wales for at least 6 months immediately before applying • Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident • Must be available to attend intensive training for the applied department • Must belong to at least one under-represented group: Regional New South Wales, Western Sydney, First Nations people, culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people living with disability, LGBTQIA+ people, or people from low socio-economic backgrounds • Must not be in breach of any obligation under a New South Wales Government funding agreement • Must not be an employee of a federal, state or territory government screen agency • Stage 2 applicants must also have a current drivers licence, an Australian tax file number, and an Australian bank account • Stage 2 applicants must be available for a trainee placement on a New South Wales production for up to 20 weeks • Stage 2 applicants must commit to regular meetings with an industry mentor for up to 2 years • Stage 2 applicants must satisfactorily complete Stage 1 training relevant to the placement • Applicants are ineligible if they have more than 5 years of paid experience in the department they are applying for • Accessibility or travel bursary applicants must either live in Regional New South Wales or Western Sydney and be unable to cover travel costs, or be living with disability and require accessibility measures
