Who Can Apply

• Must be 18 years of age or older • Must be a New South Wales resident and have lived in New South Wales for at least 6 months immediately before applying • Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident • Must be available to attend the intensive training for the applied department • Must belong to at least one under-represented group: Regional New South Wales, Western Sydney, First Nations people, culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people living with disability, LGBTQIA+ people, or people from low socio-economic backgrounds • Must not be in breach of any obligation under a New South Wales Government funding agreement • Must not be an employee of a federal, state or territory government screen agency • Must not have more than 5 years of paid experience in the department applied for • Bursary applicants must either live in Regional New South Wales or Western Sydney and be unable to cover travel costs, or be living with disability and require accessibility measures • Stage 2 applicants must also have a current driver's licence, an Australian tax file number, an Australian bank account, availability for a placement of up to 20 weeks, commitment to mentor meetings for up to 2 years, and satisfactory completion of Stage 1 training • Location stream Stage 2 applicants require a full current driver's licence
Applicants must be individuals aged 18 or older who are New South Wales residents, having lived in New South Wales for at least 6 months immediately before applying, and must be Australian citizens or permanent residents. They must be available to attend the intensive training for their chosen department and belong to at least one under-represented group: Regional New South Wales, Western Sydney, First Nations people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people living with disability, LGBTQIA+ people, or people from low socio-economic backgrounds. Applicants must not be in breach of any New South Wales Government funding agreement and must not be employees of a federal, state or territory government screen agency. Applicants are ineligible if they have more than 5 years of paid experience in the department for which they are applying. For the accessibility or travel bursary, applicants must additionally either live in Regional New South Wales or Western Sydney and be unable to cover travel costs, or be living with disability and require accessibility measures. Stage 2 applicants must also meet all Stage 1 criteria and have a current driver's licence (full licence required for Location, Art and Costume streams), an Australian tax file number, an Australian bank account, availability for a trainee placement on a New South Wales production for up to 20 weeks, willingness to commit to regular mentor meetings for up to 2 years, and satisfactory completion of Stage 1 training.
