Who Can Apply

Lead applicant must be an Australian SME with an active ABN, GST registration, and Australian incorporation as a trading corporation. Project must involve at least two Australian industry organisations and one Australian research organisation. Lead organisation must be the SME industry entity and submit the application. Applicants must at least match the grant funding sought through cash and/or in-kind contributions.
To be eligible as lead applicant, you must: • Be an SME • Have an Australian Business Number (ABN) • Be registered for GST • Be incorporated in Australia and be a trading corporation (trading must be a major, not minor, part of your activity) Your project partners must include: • The lead applicant (Australian industry SME) • A second Australian industry organisation (any size) • At least one Australian research organisation The lead SME must: • Submit the application form • If successful, sign the grant agreement and enter into a partner agreement with all partners Not eligible as lead applicants: • Entities that are not SMEs • Individuals, sole traders, partnerships, unincorporated associations or trusts • Research organisations or entities whose primary purpose is research • Commonwealth, state, territory or local government agencies (including government business enterprises) • Entities where most funding comes from government sources • Administrative or support services to a CRC-P • Non-corporate Commonwealth entities

Eligible activities include new research, proof of concept activities, pre-commercialisation of research outcomes, industry-focused education and training activities, conferences, workshops and symposia related to the joint research, and information sharing and communications related to the research.
