Who Can Apply

• Lead applicant must be a small to medium enterprise (SME) • Lead applicant must have an active Australian Business Number (ABN) • Lead applicant must be registered for Goods and Services Tax (GST) • Lead applicant must be incorporated in Australia and be a trading corporation • Trading activities must be sufficient to qualify as a trading corporation or be a major part of overall activity • Project must include at least two Australian industry organisations, including the lead SME • Project must include one Australian research organisation • Lead SME organisation must submit the application form • Applicants must match the grant funding sought with cash and/or in-kind contributions • Lead applicant cannot be an individual, sole trader, partnership, unincorporated association or trust • Lead applicant cannot be a research organisation or an entity primarily undertaking research • Lead applicant cannot be a Commonwealth, state, territory or local government agency or body • Lead applicant cannot be an entity where most funding is from government sources • Lead applicant cannot be an administrative or support service to a CRC-P • Lead applicant cannot be a non-corporate Commonwealth entity
To be eligible as the lead applicant, an organisation must be an SME, have an Australian Business Number (ABN), be registered for Goods and Services Tax (GST), and be incorporated in Australia and a trading corporation. Trading activities must be enough to be called a trading corporation or be a major part of the organisation's overall activity. Project partners must include the lead applicant as an Australian industry entity SME, a second Australian industry organisation of any size, and one Australian research organisation. The lead SME organisation must submit the application form. Applicants must at least match the amount of grant funding sought through cash and/or in-kind contributions. Not eligible as lead applicants are entities that are not SMEs; individuals, sole traders, partnerships, unincorporated associations or trusts; research organisations or entities whose primary purpose is to undertake research; Commonwealth, state, territory or local government agencies or bodies including government business enterprises; entities where most funding is from government sources; administrative or support services to a CRC-P; and non-corporate Commonwealth entities.
