- Applicant must be from a New South Wales public sector research institution or the New South Wales community sector
- Eligible applicants include incorporated non-profit organisations, national non-profit organisations planning a conference in New South Wales, community groups, universities and government associations
- A Professional Conference Organiser may apply only in partnership with an eligible entity
- Conference must take place in New South Wales
- Conference must be held between February and December 2024
- Conference research area must be in mathematical, information and computing sciences; physical, chemical and earth sciences; engineering, environmental sciences and renewable energy; or biological and biotechnological sciences
- Applicant must not be insolvent
- Individuals are not eligible
- Partnerships are not eligible
- Unincorporated associations are not eligible
- Commonwealth, state, territory and local government agencies or bodies are not eligible, excluding government corporate entities
- Conferences that received Department or OCSE funding in 2023 are not eligible
