Who Can Apply

• Applicant must be an eligible organisation type, not an individual. • Applicant must own the war memorial or have the owner's endorsement to undertake the project and apply. • Project must relate to an existing war memorial in New South Wales. • War memorial must be recorded on the NSW War Memorials Register. • Application must align with one eligible category: Category A reports and assessments, or Category B physical works. • Category A applicants cannot also apply for Category B works in the same round for the same war memorial. • Category B applicants are expected to obtain relevant heritage advice before applying. • Project must follow best practice heritage conservation principles and processes. • Project must not have already started or been completed. • Individuals cannot apply. • Ineligible activities include constructing new war memorials, replacing memorials, adding new plaques or names, ongoing maintenance, large-scale new electrical infrastructure, CCTV, work to individual graves, application preparation costs, approval costs, debt, permanent salaries, and commercial for-profit activities.
Applicants must be eligible organisations responsible for the management of war memorials in New South Wales and must either own the war memorial or have the owner's endorsement to undertake the project and apply. Eligible applicant types include incorporated not-for-profit community organisations, New South Wales local councils, incorporated not-for-profit bodies approved by NSW Fair Trading, not-for-profit companies limited by guarantee registered in New South Wales with ACNC registration and/or DGR status, Indigenous Corporations registered with ORIC, New South Wales Local Aboriginal Land Councils, religious organisations operating in New South Wales, New South Wales non-government organisations established under their own Act of Parliament, New South Wales Government agencies responsible for a war memorial including government schools, and non-Council Crown Land Managers (Category 1 or 2). Individuals cannot apply. Projects must relate to existing war memorials recorded on the NSW War Memorials Register and must align with either Category A reports and assessments or Category B physical works. Projects that have already started or finished, construction of new memorials, commercial for-profit activities, ongoing salaries, debt, duplicate funding for the same project, and various listed ineligible works are excluded.
