- Applicant must be an organisation, not an individual.
- Applicant must be an eligible organisation type, including incorporated not-for-profit organisations, New South Wales local councils and section 355 committees, approved not-for-profit bodies, eligible companies limited by guarantee, Indigenous Corporations, New South Wales Local Aboriginal Land Councils, religious organisations operating in New South Wales, certain New South Wales non-government organisations, and New South Wales Government agencies responsible for a war memorial.
- Applicant must either own the war memorial or have the endorsement of the owner of the war memorial.
- Project must relate to an existing war memorial in New South Wales.
- Project must fit an eligible category: specialist reports/advice or physical conservation works.
- Project must not be for constructing a new war memorial.
- Project must not have already started or been finished.
- War memorial must be recorded on the NSW War Memorials Register.
- Activities must align with best practice heritage conservation principles and processes.
- Applications must be submitted online through the OVA SmartyGrants website.
