Community Small Grants supports community groups, associations and individuals in the Hunter Local Land Services region to build knowledge, skills and participation in land management practices. Funding supports small community engagement, education, field-based events and training activities.

Who Can Apply

• Applicants may include landcare groups, schools, farmer networks, industry associations, pest animal networks, Aboriginal organisations, agricultural community organisations, Local Aboriginal Land Councils, industry/producer groups, committees/associations and not-for-profit organisations. • Applicants whose organisation/group is subject to an ICAC, Local Land Services, DPI or other legal investigation cannot apply. • Applicants/groups must be residing in or registered in the Hunter Local Land Services region. • The group/organisation must have been in operation for at least 6 months. • The organisation/community group must be incorporated, or be auspiced by an organisation that is incorporated or has an ABN. • Unincorporated groups may receive assistance if supplier tax invoices are issued directly to Local Land Services, Hunter region. • Maximum of one application per group per financial year. • Applicants must provide a clear project scope, project plan and project budget based on quotes, estimates or reasonable assumptions. • Landowner consent is required if the land is not owned by the applicant. • Community groups must provide proof of incorporation. • Applicants must provide evidence of $20 million public liability insurance in the applicant's name. • Applicants must provide evidence of community consultation and strong community support. • At least 2 photos from the event/activity must be supplied for promotional purposes. • Projects must build community participation, knowledge and skills in land management-related activities. • Activities already funded, already delivered, of purely personal/private benefit, outside land management activities, or outside the Hunter region are not eligible. • Projects must be completed within the agreed contract date or on or before 30 May of the financial year offered.
