• Ineligible lead applicants include state and federal government departments and agencies
• Ineligible lead applicants include individuals and sole traders
• Ineligible lead applicants include unincorporated community organisations
• Ineligible lead applicants include commercial enterprises and fixed trusts
• Local councils, preschools, TAFE institutes and universities cannot apply as lead applicants but may act as auspice organisations
To be eligible, an organisation had to be either a community, not for profit or Aboriginal organisation that is an incorporated legal entity under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), the Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2001 (Vic) or the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006 (Cth), or a social enterprise with a clearly stated purpose or mission related specifically to supporting bushfire recovery. Applicants had to have a current Australian Business Number (ABN) and no outstanding final reports or final reports required for previous government grant programs. Organisations that were not incorporated or did not have an ABN could still apply if supported by an eligible auspice organisation that agreed to manage the grant. Projects had to be located in a bushfire-affected area within the listed Victorian local government areas or alpine resorts. Ineligible lead applicants included state and federal government departments and agencies, individuals and sole traders, unincorporated community organisations, commercial enterprises, fixed trusts, local councils, and registered primary and secondary schools, preschools, TAFE institutes and universities, although some of these could act as auspice organisations.
