Who Can Apply

• Applicant must be a council that owns or manages community infrastructure. • Infrastructure must be within an eligible disaster-declared local government area in New South Wales. • Funding is available for assets directly damaged by the 2022 severe weather and flood events under AGRN 1012 and/or AGRN 1025. • Program targets the 19 most impacted local government areas, but other declared LGAs may apply with evidence of impact, community need and alignment to objectives. • Eligible project scope includes repair, restoration or betterment of community infrastructure. • Applicant must provide a clear project scope. • Applicant must provide evidence of direct damage. • Applicant must provide a project plan. • Applicant must provide a project budget based on quotes, detailed estimates, reasonable assumptions or previous experience. • Applicant must provide landowner consent. • Applicant must provide evidence of current $20 million public liability insurance in the applicant's name. • Applicant must provide evidence of strong community support for the project. • Project must align with program objectives and assessment criteria. • Project should be able to commence delivery within 12 months of funding approval. • Ineligible applicants include Australian or New South Wales government agencies, State Owned Corporations, volunteer organisations, joint organisations of councils, incorporated not-for-profit organisations, entities or trusts, and private for-profit businesses, except certain co-managed assets with an eligible council. • Ineligible projects include essential public assets under DRFA 2018, assets associated with essential public assets, projects funded through other government grants, insured repair works, assets not directly damaged by the 2022 floods, waste clean-up or make-safe works, business-as-usual activities, projects requiring ongoing New South Wales Government funding, erosion and sedimentation management projects, and projects not aligned to program objectives.

Ineligible applicants include Australian or NSW government agencies, State Owned Corporations, volunteer organisations, joint organisations of councils, incorporated not-for-profit organisations, entities or trusts, and private for-profit businesses, except in limited co-managed asset circumstances with an eligible council.
