Who Can Apply

• Applicant must submit the project through the SmartyGrants online system. • Applicant must be an eligible organisation, including a New South Wales association or non-distributing cooperative, Local Aboriginal Land Council, Indigenous corporation, local council or Section 355 committee, incorporated not-for-profit, ACNC-registered trust, or public company limited by guarantee. • Applicant must apply under its own legal name and ABN where applicable. • Organisations on the ACNC Register must have a current and up-to-date record. • Applicants with CBP 2021 or CBP 2022 grants must have acquitted those projects by 2025-02-21 unless an approved extension is in place. • Local councils and Section 355 committees must provide dollar-for-dollar matched funding in cash. • Funding requests must be between $10,000 and $100,000. • Project must be located in New South Wales. • Eligible project types include capital works, freestanding equipment purchases, and vehicle purchases or modifications. • Project works must not have commenced before the grant round closing date of 2025-02-21. • Project must be completed by 2026-08-03. • Development approval evidence must be provided where required. • Capital works projects must include property or landowner consent. • Applicant must hold current public liability insurance with minimum cover of $5 million. • A detailed and itemised project budget is required. • Quotes are mandatory for applications requesting $30,001 or more. • Ineligible applicants include proprietary companies, companies limited by shares, individuals, unincorporated organisations, for-profit commercial organisations, government agencies and entities, and applicants applying on behalf of another organisation.
Applicants must submit through SmartyGrants and be an eligible organisation such as a New South Wales association or non-distributing cooperative registered with NSW Fair Trading, a Local Aboriginal Land Council or Indigenous corporation registered with ORIC, a New South Wales local council or Section 355 committee, a not-for-profit entity incorporated under an Act of Parliament, a trust registered with the ACNC, or a public company limited by guarantee. Applicants must apply under their own legal name and ABN where applicable. Organisations listed on the ACNC Register must have a current and up-to-date record. Applicants with grants from the CBP 2021 or CBP 2022 rounds must have acquitted those projects by 21 February 2025 unless they have an active approved extension. Local councils and Section 355 committees must provide matched funding equal to the grant amount awarded. Eligible projects must be located in New South Wales, request between $10,000 and $100,000, and be for capital works, equipment purchase, or vehicle purchase/modification. Projects must not have commenced works before 21 February 2025 and must be completed by 3 August 2026. Required supporting documentation may include development approval where required, property or landowner consent for capital works, public liability insurance of at least $5 million, a detailed itemised budget, and quotes for requests of $30,001 or more. Ineligible applicants include proprietary companies, companies limited by shares, individuals, unincorporated organisations, for-profit commercial organisations, government agencies and entities, and organisations applying on behalf of another eligible organisation.
