Who Can Apply

• Lead applicant must hold an Australian Business Number (ABN). • Lead applicant must be an Australian entity or partnership incorporated under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), or a non-government/not-for-profit organisation with legal status or auspiced administration. • Applicant must have fewer than 200 full-time equivalent employees at the time of EOI submission. • Applicant must operate at the 'make' phase of the product life cycle, such as manufacturing or design. • Applicant must hold public liability insurance of at least $20 million. • Applicant must hold workers compensation insurance as required by law. • Stream 1 is for sole applicants. • Stream 2 requires a collaborative partnership with a lead applicant plus at least two other organisations. • Stream 2 lead applicant must be at the make phase and have fewer than 200 FTEs. • Applicants must provide 1:1 matched funding. • At least 50% of the applicant co-contribution must be cash, with the remainder allowed as in-kind. • Projects must primarily benefit New South Wales. • Projects must start by May 2023 and finish, including final reporting, by 30 June 2026. • Applicants, related entities and project partners must have a satisfactory compliance history under New South Wales environment protection laws.
The lead applicant must hold an active Australian Business Number and be either an Australian entity or partnership incorporated under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), or a non-government/not-for-profit organisation with established legal status or able to have grant funds administered by another organisation with legal status. Applicants must have fewer than 200 full-time equivalent employees at the time of submitting the EOI, operate at the 'make' phase of a product life cycle such as manufacturing and design, and hold public liability insurance of at least $20 million plus workers compensation insurance as required by law. Stream 1 is for sole applicants. Stream 2 requires collaborative partnerships with a lead applicant at the make phase with fewer than 200 FTEs and at least two other organisations. Applicants must provide matched co-contributions on a 1:1 basis, with at least 50% of the applicant contribution in cash. Projects must primarily benefit New South Wales, align with program objectives, and be able to start by May 2023 and finish by 30 June 2026.

Eligible activities include purchasing new or modified equipment, redesigning products or systems to use less plastic or improve recyclability, creating durable or reusable products, adopting reuse models, commercialising new technologies, replacing hard-to-recycle plastics with sustainable alternatives, and implementing circular-economy business models. Stream 2 may also fund eligible partnership activities related to collection, recycling, reprocessing, coordination and supply-chain collaboration where they support the lead applicant’s manufacturing outcomes.
