Who is eligible for the Centre of Excellence Fund?
- Eligible applicants include recognised State Sporting Organisations, National Sporting Organisations, NSW Institute of Sport, Australian Sports Commission, NSW Regional Academies of Sport, universities with New South Wales campuses, specialist sports high schools operated by the NSW Department of Education, NSW-based professional sporting organisations, eligible sporting clubs and associations, local government authorities, and private enterprises.
- Applicants must be based in or operate in New South Wales where specified, and projects must be located on land within New South Wales.
- Applicants must provide landowner consent for the project unless the land is owned by the applicant.
- Applicants must provide an ABN, ACN, incorporation number and/or Indigenous Incorporation Number.
- Individuals and groups of individuals cannot apply.
- Schools other than NSW Department of Education operated specialist sports high schools, and TAFEs, cannot apply.
- Parent and Citizens Associations, progress associations, and community or religious groups without a primary purpose of sport and/or recreation cannot apply.
- Organisations named by the National Redress Scheme or Royal Commission as not having joined the National Redress Scheme are not eligible.
- Applications are expected to include a minimum 50% financial co-contribution, with hardship consideration available.
- Partnership approaches are encouraged and considered favourably.
