• Applicant must be one of the four eligible councils: Cabonne Shire Council, Forbes Shire Council, Lachlan Shire Council, or Parkes Shire Council • Applicant must be a legal entity • Applicant must have, or be willing to purchase, at least $20 million in public liability insurance • Project must involve council-owned or managed community infrastructure • Infrastructure must be directly damaged by the August 2022 severe weather and flood events declared as AGRN 1030 and/or 1034 • Asset must be located in an eligible local government area • Project must be for repair, restoration and/or betterment • Asset must not meet the definition of an essential public asset under the DRFA • Project must be able to commence construction within 12 months of funding approval • Project must be completed by 30 June 2027 • Requested costs must not already be covered by insurance or other government funding • Project must not be business as usual, explicitly commercial, residential, or for new infrastructure that did not exist prior to the disaster
Only the four eligible local government areas can apply: Cabonne Shire Council, Forbes Shire Council, Lachlan Shire Council and Parkes Shire Council. Applicants must be councils that are legal entities and have, or be willing to purchase, at least $20 million in public liability insurance. Projects must be for the repair, restoration and/or betterment of council-owned or managed community infrastructure directly damaged by the severe weather and flood events from August 2022 declared as AGRN 1030 and/or 1034. Eligible assets must be located in the eligible LGAs and must not meet the definition of an essential public asset under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements. Projects must be able to commence construction within 12 months of funding approval and be completed by 30 June 2027. Funding cannot cover costs already covered by insurance or other government funding, business-as-usual activities, commercial activities, residences, new infrastructure that did not exist prior to the disaster, or assets not located in eligible LGAs.
